JOHN MICHAEL GONZALEZ served as Chief of Staff for two moderate House Democrats and transition official for then President-elect Obama. In the House, he was Chief of Staff to New Democrat Coalition Leadership and served as an important ally to House moderates, Ways & Means, Financial Services, and Energy & Commerce Democrats, as well as House Leadership.
John Michael has played a key role in such major legislation as CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, Dodd Frank, the Affordable Care Act, DR-CAFTA, and Colombia FTA. He also served as the lead Democratic lobbyist for the BRT-led coalition responsible for renewal of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA/fast track).
