On July 2, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Calendar Year 2027 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Proposed Rule. In addition to the annual payment update, the rule proposes significant changes to what Medicare pays for 340B drugs and the 340B repayment adjustment, an expansion of site neutral policies, and outlines requests for information on hospital price transparency provisions and other topics.
